What about Lenovo BIOS ??

    Hello,

    I´m planning to buy a used Lenovo Thinkpad W510.
    Are those BIOSes from Lenovo also locked, do they hide options from user ? Are those BIOSes also RSA signed ?
    I asked because my HP 255 have Insyde BIOS with very restricted options, not able to access AHCI and so on.
    If Lenovo has the same sh*t I will not go to buy it.

    Lenovo usually restricts users by putting whitelist in bios. Moreover you can't flash modded bios for some models without hardware programmer.

    Go for Asus/MSI.

    Does Asus / MSI provide good workstation-laptops with 16GB RAM at a minimum ?
