Guys I can see that there are Windows 8.1 Preview isos available for MSDN Subscribers, and yet people are waiting for the "official" ones. Does anyone know what differences are there going to be between these isos?
The ISO's at msdn are ISO's of upgrade, not standalone, so you cannot dual boot with them or choose which partition to put in on.
The ISO I downloaded from msdn was not a standalone, in other words it had to go on top of a windows 8 you all ready had, not standalone|
What are you saying!? There are no 32 and 64-bit isos on MSDN and 235?? What does that even mean EDIT: Okay, I think I understand the 235 thingy, you mean part of the last number in the ISO filename, but even then all those isos are standalone...
I was wrong about where I got them, but they were not standalone and came together Hello all... For those who want the info for the ISO here it is... Windows 8.1 Preview (x64) - DVD (English) File Name: en_windows_8.1_preview_x64_dvd_2358761.iso Languages: English SHA1: D8076E029292FBC933792D215793045031255FF6 Windows 8.1 Preview (x86) - DVD (English) File Name: en_windows_8.1_preview_x86_dvd_2358833.iso Languages: English SHA1: 447CCD24EB3DC6CFD9A42E62A5F6418B578E3CBF Got them via TechNet.
Going by those filenames and hashes those are exactly the same ISOs as on MSDN, but since they were bundled (64/86) you didn't get them through official sources, therefore it's possible that something is wrong with them. I can assure you that those ISOs can be used to perform clean installs, dual boot etc.
Yes, even on empty partitions, but I can't give you any download links since the ISOs aren't (officially) available to the public yet, only on MSDN and TechNet. There's a topic on MDL with unoffical download links though.
