What are the exact differences between Office 2021, 2019 and 2016?

    What are the exact differences between Office 2021, 2019 and 2016?
    I'm genuinely curious after seeing in YAOCTRI that the same files can "make" 3 generations of Office suite.

    In simplistic terms, there's one set of code which is Office 365 the subscription product.

    That code contains a lot of conditionals, i.e. switches on/off, where various features are enabled or not.

    The LTSC versions leave the switches set at the specific settings as they were defined at release, the 365 product continues to innovate and add new stuff.
