What are the holes on the side of webcam on laptop

    Most likely a microphone. So not only can they see you, but they can hear you too. If you really need to know, then just remove any screws holding the bezel in and pop it off around the screen so you can see what's behind it

    I think their to small to be mics....is that a lenovo laptop i only seen does holes in that brand.

    Everything which is voice activated needs to listen to everything you say to discern when you issue the proper voice commands for it to work. This is really obvious.

    m$ requires them to be there for cortana to jump into your living room.

    Those are stereo microphones with beam forming. You can remove the lcd bezel and see it for yourself :)

    If you are worry about being spy on just put a piece of tape over the webcam :)
