I have a legal copy of Windows 8. What are the possible risks of activating Office 2013 in it? I do know that this procedure is not legal, but this is a subject that is never mentioned. MS must have some kind of protection against it, so maybe they will repercusions for those who do it?
Even if M$ blacklists keys and you cant update, you are using illegal software. Just be grateful you have it installed.
somewhere on Technet i read about office VL edition that you can use them only on windows VL editions. So not sure what will happen of install & activate it on retail version
There's no difference the word between legal and illegal. Back to Win 7. You modify BIOS use OEM key .... then activated is activated equal to Genuine
I have used Office 2010 activated with a KMS Emulator for the past 3 years..and M$ couldn't identify the KMS emulated activation, It got all the updates thru Windows update, and worked till I uninstalled it to install 2013..So, it seems unlikely that they will bother this time
Not at all true. Activations for Office products and Windows are completely independent of each other. You're probably thinking of the KMS host which requires a volume windows.
Consequences are in your conscience... after all you use something that you stole... (or at least got into possession in a questionable way)
I'm not a n00b, but I'm new to this forum so go easy on me. I've activated Win8 and Office 2013 (a.k.a. 15) and there are no problems with the updates. So, here's my speculation: Once activated I don't think it will make any difference between your genuine version and one you activated through the KMS server. Think back to the days of when WinXP/Vista were required to pass some sort of genuine validation. If activated correctly, whether legit or not, they worked and although I can't say for certain MS couldn't tell the difference. Or at least if they could, they still passed it as genuine and off we went with the installs and updates. How could this be any different?
