I used the SLIC AMI BIOS tool to enter the SLIC data into the latest eeePC 1000H BIOS. I chose the Asus SLP file, and the MSI (closest to Asus) SLIC file.

I managed to patch the BIOS and flash without a problem.

I then installed the 7600 build and installed the MSI Certificate (how can I verify that this part worked, even though it said successful?), using slmgr.

Then I used the leaked OEM key code, which reports that it was installed successfully.

    However, my system isn't activated...

    What did I do wrong?

First, you need to verify that your BIOS modification is working correctly by using SLIC_Dump_Toolkit or RW_Everything. If your modded BIOS isn't reporting that it's got a v2.1 SLIC, Windows 7 won't activate.

I loaded it back into the AMI SLIC Tool, it reported it already contains SLIC information this time. I then loaded the MSI certificate and hit verify, it verified correctly.

Is that good enough, or do I still need to use the slic dump toolkit?

    Thanks

You need to make sure Windows 7 is seeing it by using SLIC_DUMP_TOOLKIT (preferable v1.05) and verifying that it shows up to Windows 7 as a v2.1 SLIC.

You don't need something that's 'closest' to anything. Why don't you use the DELL SLP, DELL SLIC (QA09), and DELL CERT. These are known to be working and are used in a large number of the successfully modded BIOS's. They're what I use. They're included in Andy's package with the mod tools.

    Ok, one last question....

Do I need to reinstall once I re-flash, or can I simply re-flash, install the dell cert, use the key?

If you haven't flashed with a BIOS modded to DELL as I suggested, do that first. Then install a clean copy of Windows 7 Ultimate (leave the KEY blank during the installation process). Before you try to activate it, run SLIC_DUMP_TOOLKIT_105 and verify that Windows can see the v2.1 SLIC. Then add the DELL CERT (-ilc) and the Lenovo KEY (-ilk). Hopefully, you'll have a clean and activated system at that point with no junk installed.

I can only get the BIOS to build if I choose the "Dynamic" option, otherwise it reports there is no space for the SLIC data.

I rebuilt a new BIOS using the DELL info, reflashed, reinstalled and ran the slic dump toolkit. It's still reporting "Dump Error: SLIC Table Not Found".

I guess I'm going to need some help getting a proper BIOS. Can someone help?
