    My goal is to get Cortana working, since I accidentally installed an en-GB image.

    And please, don't spew any of the "Privacy" s**t, I get it, go away.

    I think you can just add it in "time and language" under settings?

    Why would you want en-us when the only true en is en-gb

    You add en-us and you will have to start using words such as gasoline, chica, and some other funny words

    I would, but then I would need to re-install Windows.

    What do you mean? I thought EN-US is the default English of Windows? At least it was until Windows 7, I guess. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

    It depends on whether en-US or en-GB.

    en = en-US = English = English (United States)

    en-GB = English International = English (United Kingdom)

    Actually en-GB is OK for Cortana. But if you insisted on en-US, you do not need to re-install en-US version:

    1. Add en-US language pack, and remove en-GB

    2. Create/save/import this registry, by double-click on en-US.reg.

    en-US.reg
    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\MUI\PreinstalledLanguages\en-GB]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\MUI\PreinstalledLanguages\en-US]

    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\MUI\UILanguages\en-GB]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\MUI\UILanguages\en-US]
    "LCID"=dword:00000409
    "Type"=dword:00000111

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Nls\Language]
    "InstallLanguage"="0409"
    "Default"="0409"

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Nls\Locale]
    @="00000409"
    "(Default)"="00000409"

    3. Restart

    Now it is en-US version.

    4. Unistall en-GB language pack
    Code:
    lpksetup /u
    5.

    (a) Add en-US Speech pack, and set it as default Speech language

    (b) Remove en-GB Speech pack if present

    6. Set everythings to en-US, except Time-Zone.

    7. Check Windows updates (since Windows 10 rollup updates are language-sensitive.)

    8. Restart

    Good luck & Enjoy

    But why en-GB is called English International? Don't they think en-US is a Internationally recognized language? :D

    historically British English is international due to all colonies worldwide

    US English is coming to a similar point since they start wars all over the world, sadly

    It definitely IS off-topic. But take it easy.

    Life is short, mate. Be happy, no worries - as long as you do not break MDL rules.

    USA Au Canada and etc were some still are colonies, as most people around the world speak english-gb that's why English international. English-us is slightly different as Americans adopted Mexican words such as gasoline, etc and they look funny when they talk. For example pidgin is also based on an English language but you won't understand it. English-gb =English international
    English-us = pidgin

    Hope now you understand
