It depends on whether en-US or en-GB. en = en-US = English = English (United States) en-GB = English International = English (United Kingdom)
Actually en-GB is OK for Cortana. But if you insisted on en-US, you do not need to re-install en-US version: 1. Add en-US language pack, and remove en-GB 2. But why en-GB is called English International? Don't they think en-US is a Internationally recognized language?

USA Au Canada and etc were some still are colonies, as most people around the world speak english-gb that's why English international.
