I have not seen Daz for a very long time. Their last post seems to be: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...support-and-chat.24902/page-1076#post-1526946
The last post in that thread was on July 29, 2019. DAZ Loader 2.2.2 still works fine in Windows Vista SP2 and Windows 7 SP1. I've used it in both operating systems within the past week.
Possibly real life, real job, frustration with the MDL scene? Perhaps the fact that Windows Loader works quite well, and he has no intent to keep developing it. btw: I noticed that you used a plural pronoun "their". Daz is a single individual, not a group or team.
Roflmao, I was going to post exactly the same thing but suddenly your post ... It Although 'it' is more appropriate when you are referring to an object/animal. Even so 'it' sounds better for me. Maybe I'm just wrong.
It is a neuter gender pronoun, used for things that strictly don't have gender (such as non-living things and sometimes animals). 'They' is used for things which have a gender but whose gender is not known/is not mentioned.
Are you sure? They are completely anonymous and there is actually some evidence that 'Daz' may be a group.
The "DAZ group" is figment of some fake loader and kms websites' imagination (to sound trustworthy), he went after some of them in the past.
In some very early posts in the Windows loader thread, Daz says "we will fix this issue in the next release". although this may simply be due to the fact that his primary language is not English and his primary language is Hindi or something like me. In Hindi, it is fairly common to say हम (we) instead of मैं (me). He may have mistranslated something.
Considering that the loader is a compilation of the members contributions at the time of creation (he simply took all the gathered info and made the exe from it), back then MDL was all about bios mods and other activation stuff and more of a community, that's probably the reason of the usage of the term "we".
I recall that Daz (a he) worked closely with BobSheep on some of the loader development. BobSheep was also quite active in the loader support thread for some time. There are also some colleagues mentioned in the readme.txt file packaged with the loader. "Special thanks: BobSheep, zsmin & Woota!?"
hm. i bet he is a he. and i seem to recall that when some mod`s pw got guessed by some canadian who made a mess of mdl, he said some things about the guy that were not quite ladylike in the chatbox..
@Woota?!'s account is still present, although it hasn't been active since 2010. zsmin's modified GRUB loader was one of the earliest "softmods" for SLIC emulation. You can still read about initial SLIC (as well as KMS) emulation development stories on the MyDigitallIfe news portal, although some of the older articles are lost during transition.
AFAIK when I used to chat with Daz, he wanted to do apps on mobile so maybe he's doing that right now. Good on him if he is doing that. Probably making money and being happy during this stupid pandemic.!!!
