IK of a good one that is not cheap but you can get it if you know where to look lol. It is the AV part of Symantec Endpoint Protection. It works great on linux from what I read.

Will Avast antivirus also detect windows virus? And is there something for anti-spyware?

Is it also safe enough to use wine on ubuntu? Dont get Ubuntu than a virus on the system?

Most AVs are also Anti-Spyware dude. I know that both Symantec Endpoint and Avast have Anti-Spyware protection. WINE should be fine as well. Just remember that viruses on linux can still run on windows if you are not careful.

The best security feature in the distribution is the kernel. ;-)

And the fact that nobody uses linux, so it's just not worth to develop a virus for it :)

you don't really need one. just install software from the repos and don't add third party repositories unless you know where they are coming from. always have latest updates and you shouldn't run into a problem. I've been running antivirus/antispyware free for around 2 years with zero problems whatsoever

Nobody? Someone had to have used Linux otherwise, the OS would have never existed. I would stray from using any quantifiers that would be subsets of all or none (inclusive or). These types of statements will, more than likely, be proven false.
