[SOLVED] What is the best USB dongle for Mac, Ubuntu and Windows

So my parents are considering getting a new computer and giving me their old computer with xp with an intel chipset and 2.8 gb of ram. I am planning on tripple booting it the first os being mac os x lion 10.7.5, second being Ubuntu, and finally third being windows 8.1 (legit) with my msdn. I would have to get a new dongle that would work. But which one is "the best" and has drivers for Mac, Ubuntu and Windows compatibility but under 30 us dollars. Any suggestions are appreciated and welcomed.

The majority of those Dongles come from China. To be sure they would work with the 3 OS's you asking for, you'll need to check that the needed drivers are available for those OS's. I would start with Dongles from Huawei which seems to be more compatible to different OS's than others.

Anyway, you've to check on your own, I wouldn't like spend time for that.

Just curious, if your computer has WiFi NIC, you could also use an so called 3G WiFi-Router which has the advantage taht you could use it also on up to 5 devices at the same time.

I use an Huawei iFox MiFi-585 with my Laptop and the Android Tablet. It has an internal Battery which serves up to 4h and if that isn't enough, just connect by USBto the Laptop for charging. and I could use everywhere because it connects by 3G to the Internet.

[SOLVED] turns out I did my research and Found that the Jacobparts series has support for all the operating systems I would be using plus it came with the disk, but I did not need to use it once because it worked right out of the box. Thanks Though you can close this thread.
