    1. Install the Windows KB971033 WAT update as per any other important MS updates and do nothing,:drive1:

    or

    2. Install the Windows KB971033 WAT update as per any other important MS updates and disable the WAT services and task scheduler to prevent memory hog and run to submit information back to MS WAT servers,:bruce_h4h:

    or

    3. Install the Windows KB971033 WAT update and then uninstall it immediately for those who had unknowingly installed this WAT update only to know later what it does, ie. run as a service and ring home periodically to submit your info to MS WAT servers,:fear:

    or

    4. Do not install the Windows KB971033 WAT update and hide it in Windows Updates to prevent any nags.:censored:

Hope to hear solid advices from the experts and experienced Windows 7ers here:p

If you not are sure, just do the number 4.

What if you had already installed the Windows KB971033 WAT update, do you advise to do Option 1, 2 or 3 ?

That update is optional, take things less seriously. :D
As long as OEMs buy the software MS will be satisfied. :p

If the latest kb update is worrying you so much, turn off auto updates. But IMHO, proper bios mod as in slic cert and key that match your your mobo = no problem........ otherwise get a valid key..........:D:D

Just installed this update on my 2nd machine - ASUS A8N32-SLI mobo modified with Dell SLIC - used ASUS key from these forums.

It didn't make any difference so far.

If it was going to find mismatches between SLIC tables, the BIOS vendor and keys used it should have found this.

Does it do anything to loaders ???

IF you have it installed and are genuine then do nothing.

well hell, install the thing and see what happens and then take course of action to fix what it does (Reply within many posts MDL)

Me I am OEM :D fixed slic and good to go, if it slows me down on this Quad core I'll acronis back and start over and not install.

Google Chrome, why the hell would I want a search engine to take over my PC? something wrong with that picture
