I have a Windows XP Pro VLK disk that has worked great for many years but ever since SP3 I always get the genuine activation problem. I have tried Antiwpa but that doesn't work at all anymore. So instead I have to use a VLK keygen, and a key changer and a program that changes the hosts file then a reboot and it works. It is quite a long process. There are so many bypass programs out there and it is too confusing to test each one (most are a virus it seems too!) Any suggestions on what to try would be great and I appreciate the time to respond.
Do it the OEM way, tatoo the BIOS with a SLP marker and use the corresponding OEM-key and OEMBIOS files. Tatoo @ forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/6351-DMI-Boot-CD-for-Award-AMI-Intel-BIOS-%28Add-SLP1.0-w-o-modding%29 OEM-key @ forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/6077-VLK-and-OEMBIOS-changer...
A BIOS mod for XP? I never thought that would apply. I understand the OEM and VLK, that does seem to be the least restrictive core components. Ok I will look further on this site but the information is rather hard to swallow sometimes here due to so many pages of alterations and edits. But, i got time, so here I go. Thanks.
Why is it that only since SP3 you are having an activation problem?! All VLK disc installs (SP0, SP1, SP1a, SP2a, SP2b & SP3) will prompt you for genuine validation if you enable windows update. You have to either a) Use an OEM SLP disc OR b) Disable windows update before connecting to the internet for a VLK install (with its attendant limitations)
