if somebody knows ? I want to know which version of Windows 8 is the recommended and equal to Windows 7 Ultimate.
The wikipedia comparison pretty much sums it up en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_8_editions#Comparison_chart there are a few features that Enterprise has but not that big of a difference really
If you see the key, it is for pro even though you can see `windows 8 dvd'. Good on MS but they should have clarified. Even vista had all non-enterprise versions as one download. Enter the product version key and it worked as that version.
But if I want to use a KMS to activate it, do I need to download the PRO VL version? I think the regular version is only activated via Retail.
No, the WZT leaked "pro" was in fact the "regular" version and that activates with KMS when you insert the KMS client key for it. The Pro VL edition simply has the key pre-populated so you don't get asked for it.
Is it true that regardless of the suffixes such as VL or otherwise for Pro and Enterprise: 1. all get activated with KMS 2. all can get activated with MAK or even a retail key (in case of Pro). I think both are true.

Well, according to the excerpt from Wikipedia posted in this thread, Windows 8 Enterprise seems to be a better choice over Windows 8 Professional. Now, concerning the different versions of windows 7, Windows 7 Ultimate seems to be the preferred choice among forum users. Windows 7 Enterprise may be a bad choice because it may present additional challenges in the activation process. Back to windows 8, its hard to say, but maybe the preferred version is Windows 8 Enterprise.
Just an fyi, with Win8 Pro VL you could not install WMC on it, you had to have the non-VL Win8 Pro version.
removing the Pro VL ei.cfg results in it asking for a key, it will only except Pro VL and Pro retail keys. I guess there really is no core in there.
