Hello, I have been downloading the Windows 10 updates from @GezoeSloog's cloud repo, and then, I recently seen a new folder with a 20H2 instead of the regular one 2004 I am now confused : en_windows_10_consumer_editions_version_2004_updated_nov_2020_x64_dvd_d4d1b40c.iso or en_windows_10_consumer_editions_version_20h2_updated_nov_2020_x64_dvd_7727be28.iso So, What is the difference between them. Which one should I install? TIA.
20H2 = Windows 10 October 2020 Update 2004 = Windows 10 May 2020 Update installing from the 2004 ISO will at some day result in a 20H2 installation, because it will be offered as an update on the 2004 installation. use the 20H2 ISO.
20H2 is 2004 with the new features enabled. Not added mind you, they are already in 2004, 20H2 just has them turned on.
Thank you guys for all the responses and clarifications. So I guess I will go for 20H2, it is an MSFT DDL but I am not sure about its short file name!
it's just a simplified filename as it's a Techbench download for users who have absolutely no clue what consumer, updated_dec_2020 and such things mean
I need to know its real file name to store it in my external HDD for later usage. EDIT: Never mind, I just found a renaming script posted by you: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...20h1-2-vb_release.80763/page-287#post-1634140
What is the difference between windows 2004 and 20H2 really? Security updates, tiny bit of eye candy and a few new features including those for Xbox and Bluetooth devices, other then that it`s basically the same OS, i have been told that some of the new features for Surfaces are impressive but again i haven`t seen them so i can`t relate on that. Oh yeah and the service life of the OS as well.
Win10 2004 Build is a 2020 Build of Win10 in Simple While 20H2 = 2004 + Enablement Package [ same as we used it on Win10 2019 Year Build 1903 to be updated to 1909 ]
The last version I had is 2004, so when I saw this one, I was wondering what this new version is! (it is not like the names I knew before)? and as a non-native English speaker, what the letter H is doing in the version name!? So I posted my question, and after the help of @SAM-R, @Enthousiast and @luzea I finally understood that it is.
