Someone told me that I cannot just download the latest Intel Drivers such as Chipset and IRST because my chipset (SandyBridge) support ends at: Chipset Drivers: 9.3.0.1026 IRST: 11.7.0.1013 And that was true, because when I installed the later Intel Chipset Drivers 9.4.0.1016 I noticed that the driver version numbers being installed are still showing 9.3.0.1026 on the installer screen so that confirms what they said. Now my question is, how do you guys figure this out? (specs in sig) My motherboard is based on the HM77 chipset I noticed on the Station drivers that most of them say for example: B77/H77 so that means they are for destkop chipsets and not for laptops which have the M in their name right? I guess it's better for me to always to stick to the drivers from ASUS for my specific laptop heh? who y'all think? I hate it how when I installed Windows 8 it grabbed the automatic MEI driver 9.5.xx automatically without even asking me, who in the world knows if it grabbed the mobile version or the desktop version. back to Win 7 now
Normally you could uninstall the driver from within Device Manager and directly install your Driver pointing to the local location of your driver. That will works in most cases.
LOL it wasn't a problem I was just trying to see what is the best way to update the chipset drivers for my specific model
if you really want to update your Intel chipset drivers, try running the latest intel chipset software program setup.exe file with the -overall switch. the chipset drivers are for identification purposes only...really.
I installed "Intel Chipset 9.4.0.1017" from Burfadel's dropbox folder and after install my PC started lagging until reboot. But drivers from Intel Download Center never did that. So from now i will only use drivers downloaded from official website.
