Mine is a Dell Dimension XPS T500 from 1999 - 64MB RAM 6GB HDD 500MHz Pentium 3 Windows 2000 and XP (was 98) So, what's the oldest PC you own? You should be detailed and you could even include a picture!
Buried somewhere in storage : Tandy HX-1000 1 MB RAM, has a memory expansion card but I don't remember the specifics. A Whopping 20 MB RLL hard drive thanks to an aftermarket expansion card. 2 internal 3.5" floppies as well as an external 5.25" floppy. "Smartwatch" card so you didn't have to set the date and time every boot. 1200 baud modem. 8088a processor running at 25 MHz I think. Upgraded to Compaq DOS 3.21 when it was put away, came with Tandy DOS 2.1 and "DeskMate". CGA monitor which had a horrible dot pitch. Things were simpler back then.
This is the first computer I owned. It was sold years ago. Touch system 120MHz Intel CPU (upgraded to 200MHz later on (I spent $50 on the CPU upgrade)) 32MB RAM 1.6GB hard drive (reduced to 1GB due to bad sectors) 3.5" floppy drive CD-ROM I bought it second hand in September, 1999 for $300 which was a good deal at the time. A year and a half later I sold it for the same price.
let's see... Heathkit H-8, Benton Harbor Basic, TTY ASR33. HDOS, CPM-80, 32K ram, Hard Sector SS floppy H-89 2MHZ CPU, 64K ram, 10MB hard-drive (weighted in at 50lbs.) H100, Z100, 8085 CPU/8086. DRDOS, CPM85 ZCPR3, ran a BBS (Fidonet mail) Hayes 300 baud..1200 baud modem,2400 baud was upgrade. CompuPro S100 system, CCPM-86, MPM-86. ZDS 386 running MSDOS, Desqview, Lantastic, USR HST modems, PCBoard (unlimited) BBS with "Doors" software. Gateways to the internet back them no graphics like now.. "telnet", FTP, etc. Still got a bunch of it.. my dad was into electronics. and a Dec PDP 11/03 -Snoopz
I moved and tossed a bunch of things, but kept the Dell Dimension 3000 (~2004) I don't miss the older ones now that they are gone lol
Amiga 500 w/MC68020, 4,5MB ram, Kick 2.04, 30MB SupraDrive HDD, USR HST 14.4k + 14" monochrome display (my BBS used this machine, so colors weren't needed at all) No screens available, all stuff is buried in a cabinet.
Normally my older rigs get cannibalized then I retire them. This one is the 1st x64 I built back in 2004 for testing XP x64 for "Windows Beta" - the predecessor of Connect --- MB - ASUS: K8V Deluxe CPU - Athlon 64 3000+ w/ 512K (L2 cache) Memory - 2 X 512 Corsair PC 3200 Video - GeForce FX5900 /128 MB Hdds - 1 – 250 GB, 1 – 80 GB (PATA) hard drives
Old homebuild Windows 98 machine, 512 Meg SDRAM, 10 gig HDD, Soundblaster card, Intel 2.4GHz CPU, with a 4:3AR monitor. Totally fun for old DOS games that are a hoot such as Serious Sam, MechWarrior2 & Mercs2, Ghost Bear, Wing Commander series, lots others.
1981 vintage TRS-80 model III from Radio Shack. For $1200 it came with a whopping 16K of ram and a cassette tape recorder. I expanded it to 48K and added two 180K floppy drives for less than $1000 additional.
Have a few relics kicking around.. Oldest is a circa 1982 Commadore 64. I have a tape drive and a 1541 drive for it and a stack of games.. The next oldest computer is a PII Compaq Deskpro of some sort, has Win XP on it. The Deskpro is used to communicate with the 1541 drive using a special serial adapter which can write downloaded games to disk... Neither has been booted in a while, but both are hooked up to an LCD TV I also have a Radioshack Tandy 102 personal computer. Still works also A B&W IBM Thinkpad that has a 486 processor and runs Win 3.1.. Also have an IBM Thinkpad 600E. first laptop I ever took apart.. Still works except the screen inverter shows weird colors and flickers. If only these relics were worth something..
hehe, well I have one MSI PM8M3V with P4 northwood if I remember lol, + 1GB kingston, one Compaq 15´´ monitor, hdd Maxtor 40GB and Windows XP 32 bit working fine I don´t sell it never
