There's a new browser out called "Basilisk". The FF extensions are compatible with this browser. Seems quick so far.
I stop using Google Chrome when I realized just how much junk was bundled with it and how you can never disable all the spying from Google while using it. Today, I use Firefox Quantum which is faster, more responsive and uses fewer resources than Google Chrome. My second alternative would be Opera Browser, but I only seem to prefer Firefox Quantum these days. https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/new/
Tested some browser just out of curiosity, here's what came up: FF Quantum browser -3513 FF 56.0.2 browser -3282 - modified user.js file. FF 58.0b4 browser -3442 FF 43.0.1 -3260 Chrome 60.0.3112.101 browser -3022 Browser test site - http://peacekeeper.futuremark.com Have some fun and see what yoar score is.
ZDNet did their own test (Chrome vs Edge vs old Firefox vs New Firefox) and Firefox Quantum came up on top. What is funny is in 2 of the test, Chrome came in last (4th place), while New Firefox Quantum was always either 1st or 2nd place. http://www.zdnet.com/article/just-how-fast-is-firefox-quantum/
Worked fine for me. Guess they just ain't doin any moar Dev work on it. Still runs the test and gives results that's what it was designed to do, right?. If it wasn't working don't ya think they'd remove it? Don't get yoar panties all in a knot. M$ doesn't support XP either, but hey, it still works unsupported. Don't use it if yoar afraid it'll harm you. As long as you measure things with the same yard stick the results are relevant.
I found these add-ons work with it as well. AntiMiner Decentraleyes Disconnect DuckDuckGoPlus LastPass Self Destroying Cookies uMatrix
I dislike Firefox Quantum as it looks like an Edge clone. Also, Opera is just Chromium skin with more trackin/privacy issues. Pale Moon developers seem to have best philosophy and make a good browser so I'm going with them as my favourite
Been using firefox as long as i have been using a pc. Would like to see a topic on browsers that are based on firefox though.
Firefox - I've faced frequent crashes and it doesn't have inbuilt flash player, so i uninstalled it. Edge - Not so much add on available. Opera - it was using more screen space when i enabled show bookmarks bar.so didn't like it. Chrome - I've not found any issue with this.and never faced any crashes.although thumbnails on home screen is annoying but i hide it with speed dial 2 add on. and to stop update and error reporting background services i just deleted update folder in chrome in program files.
I use Opera. It looks simple. I like Simple. I have Firefox and Chrome as well in case Opera doesn't work properly. I used to work in Safari until Apple stopped supporting Windows since Steve's death.
