A bit of an unusual question, but ~2 years ago, I was able to pick up for free a lot of old computers/devices that were being thrown out. I am wondering what I should do with them now. They are all functional, but are taking up quite a bit of storage space since I have since purchased newer desktops/laptops to run Windows 10 faster (now I know why no one else wanted them lol). The models/specs of these computers are below: 1. Dell OptiPlex 3010 - 3rd gen i5 2. Dell OptiPlex 390 - 2nd gen i5 3. Dell OptiPlex 780 - Core 2 Duo 4. Dell OptiPlex 755 - Core 2 Duo 5. 5 x IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad T60 - Core Duo 6. Lenovo ThinkPad X300 - Core 2 Duo/Centrino 7. Supermicro PDSBM-LN2+ - Core 2 Duo E6600 8. 3 iMac Late 2008 20" - Core 2 Duo 9. iMac Mid-2011 21.5" - 3rd gen Core i7 10. iMac Late 2009 27" - 1st gen Core i5 11. Dell Latitude E7440 - 4th gen Core i7 12. 2 x Dell Latitude E6230 - 3rd gen Core i5 13. Dell Latitude E6400 - Core 2 Duo 14. HP TouchSmart IQ524 - Core 2 Duo 15. VAIO VGC-JS290J - Core 2 Duo 16. Dell Precision 390 - Xeon 17. Dell Precision 490 - Dual CPU Xeon 18. iBook G4 (Late 2005) - PowerPC G4 19. MacBook Pro (Mid-2011) 15" - 3rd gen Core i7 20. MacBook Air (Late 2013) 13" - 4th gen Core i5 21. 2 x MacBook Unibody (2008) 13" - Core 2 Duo 22. 4 x MacBook Black/White (2007/2008) 13" - Core 2 Duo 23. 64 GB iPad 1 24. 32 GB iPad 2 25. 32 GB iPad 3 26. 2 x iPod Touch 27. Toshiba Satellite P75-A7200 - 4th gen Core i7 I don't have boxes for any of them but do have their chargers/power cables/mouse and keyboards. Should I part them out, recycle them, or try to sell each one as-is?
Laptops are tough because those old screen are terrible. The desktops are all towers right? Its a lot easier to sell the SFF desktops. Is the Dell OptiPlex 3010 SFF? People also seem to like dual socket systems so you might be able to sell that 490.
Yeah I agree...that's another reason why I don't use them. Luckily I got these for free, but I still need to declutter my space. I'll see whether I can get them listed on eBay then. The 490 is actually quite heavy, so I would have to check shipping costs as well. Thanks for your advice! EDIT: OptiPlex desktops are all SFF actually.
"11. Dell Latitude E7440 - 4th gen Core i7" How much you willing to sell it for ? And can it be shipped to Asia ? What will it cost me including the shipping cost ? Thanks.
Hi there, I will look up shipping costs to that area. EDIT: I listed this on eBay for $150 + shipping and it sold within a day. I probably priced it too low... Sorry about this.
Ah! don't worry about that. I have another deal, 6th Generation i5 HP. I'll take that. Thanks for your time.
Even a 4GB memory Core 2 Duo works fine with Windows 10 32bit 21H1 and Office 2016 32bit. Can still be used to access Internet, download files, e-mail, view 1080 video , etc... Still good office work PC
You'll be amazed how much of a performance boost can be achieved by simply replacing the HDD with a SATA SSD. I've changed them in all my old laptops.
I have piles of old optiplex 3010's, 3020's, poweredge 310, 320's. Was scrapping and selling to boards to board sort. Then made up a couple hackintosh boxes and androidx86. Been just giving them away as no room for them. Who knows the way out world is going they may be valuable in the future.
