i used XP VL SP3 4 long time and i was very happy, worke'd like a charm now i use'd Windows.7 and it cool, but i never see any big change performanece is same i always tweak my WINDOWS's of any version the only diff is new featuer's and i can handle without this too so what u think ?
Yup 7 is the best From XP 32-bit to Vista 64-bit my performance increased on my system, now when i swapped from vista 64-bit to 7 64-bit i see another performance increase.
7 has been SHOWN to have higher performance in games and apps. Not to mention all of the hardware support features like SSD TRIM, built-in AHCI support (around since Vista actually), more efficient use of memory, etc etc
If you have good mid or high end hardware win 7 is best. But if your PC is out of date, only way is win XP. Hmmm Vista imo is win 7 beta for money
No matter how much you tweak your system, you're not gonna get a huge performance boost. That all depends on your computer's specs.
Well, win7 definitely has better funcionality, and better looks. As for 2d gui accelleration, it's a step backwards, at least for now. Win7's GUI has been proven te be more then 4 times slower then XP. Use of resources are somewhat levelled out, so no significant improvement or setback. The issue of gui accelleration should be resolved in upcoming SP's in the near future (i hope). Let's just say that i LIKE win7 much more then XP. In some area's it's better, in others it isn't. So maybe we should wait untill at least SP2 comes out for win7, and then reassess this. I bet by then, it'll actually be better in all regards...
yea, that if you can even get windows 95 anymore dude. Plus no programs support it anymore so that would be a pain. As for the pure speed then you are right though. It has a lot of hardware limitations though. For example, it won't work if you have more then 2 gb of ram and other things like that too.
DOS 6.22 I hate these discussions... what are you trying to get at really? If you like XP use XP, if you like 7 use 7, if you like OS X use OS X. What does it matter what people think.... I used Vista since beta and never had any issues with it. As far as 2d problems the issue lies with poor implementation of Direct2D in today's cards. Since Direct2D is very new you won't see anything take advantage of DX 11 until SP1 probably. So you have to wrap Direct2d in GDI/GDI+.
1gb or less ram with integrated graphics or low end CPU -> xp else -> seven or -> other non-m$ OS. pentium 4 3.0ghz with 1gb of ram works fast and smooth with XP sp3. With seven it looks like a slow low end pc. And it's not, it's still a good pc if you choose the right OS capable of excelent work performance but not for demanding games.
like i said, hopefully they'll fix it in upcoming sp's and it isn't an annoyance at all, it's just noticable
I have the same experience with Vista, and I really didn't like that Mac look of 7 when I installed it. I really didn't want to, but optimization was the mayor reason why I switched to 7. SP03 would be fine for Vista, but MS had to steal more money.
