    Hello Again,

I just upgraded to 7 ultimate and used daz loader to activate. I just wanted to know what updates (besides KB971033) to avoid so that I don't blacklist myself.

It may not be worth installing the updates now, depending on how long it takes for the finalised SP1 to be leaked...

I think you should install all the updates now because either way when SP1 come out when you install it the installation will ignore the updates you have already installed and only install the ones you need. If you wait until SP1 comes out you can stand the chance of someone attacking your computer or you getting a virus. The updates should be installed as soon as they come out. The service packs are just so you don't have to on installation install all the updates separately instead u just have to run one setup program. It is also nice for slipstreaming into an ISO.

I would install all the updates even if the SP1 was going to be released in the next hour. SP1 simply overwrites whatever it needs and adds whatever. Of course, when SP1 comes up in windows updates, the present updates may no longer be offered in windows updates. That would still take some weeks perhaps at the least.

I never unchecked any updates when I installed Windows 7 Ultimate. Should have I?

If it such a problem, why not make a system image prior to installing updates. You can get Acronis for free if you have a Seagate or WD HDD.
Even if you do not prefer to install KB971033, SP1 has almost a 100% chance of having that included.

Yes it makes sense, lets hope it will be optional as it is with the regular updates otherwise: :worthy:

it won,t apply to 99.9% of users but the few that choose to use windows mail as opposed to live mail , mail program will fail after installing KB 978542. the solution is to keep a copy of your original msoe.dll ,as copying it back after installing the above KB 978542, will get windows mail up and running again.

KB971033 Doesn't affect Daz Loader and SP1 is not supposed to either.

I used "7Loader Release 5.exe" by Orbit and Hazar. Can I just run Daz's loader again and then update to SP1? Please advise. Thank you!
