    Hi all,
I have a Toshiba NB300 and I want to know which version of Windows 10 I can install. Pro or another?
Will work Office 2016 without lag?

    Thanks all in advance

You should run- Home 32bit. You max memory is 2g, and even with two gig I wouldn't run a 64bit OS. You might need to go to system properties and turn off most visual effects to get a snappier system.

With most effects turned off, office might be ok. Only say opening PPoint will spike CPU, but working inside it isn't that CPU intensive.

Starting any of the office apps, might be slow, but working inside them should be ok.

You can always remove office, it's more of what you think is worth dealing with so just try it.

And for antivirus stuff? ESET Smart Security?

Does Eset have a free version, a full version will really use the CPU, and you really don't need it, just check anything you download, and clear all browsing history, if you get a toolbar, or a webpage locked to your browser, just run Hitman, but clearing browser cache and removing them should work.

If ESET does not have a free light version, then try Avira free, or Avast.

I can crack it so for me is not a problem. I want a antivirus because I use unknown USB from people and I want a antivirus.

Which one is the best for my PC?

Bitdefender, Avira, ESET, are all close. Gdata is actually the very best, but it will see most things as a threat and is a pain in the A.

Use ESET, but turn off the internet security and try to just use the system check, so it doesn't hog the CPU. You should be able to just have ESET check anything you DL or any flash drive you plug in.

P.S. What ever you install, once a month you can run a online scanner, like Bitdefender, if you don't have Bitdefender installed.

There is no one absolutely perfect Anti-Virus software, and did you know that most new Virus's which are called in the wild, have not been found by one company or person.

This is why it's good to try another one as a online scanner.

If I turn off internet security will it check the files I download and the USB that I plug in, right?

from what I saw about your hardware you should try LTSB 32 bit if there is one or pro 32 bit and remove all MS apps, so you save ram, then just get office 2016 32 bit
both kms activated, I'd go for that

I know you don't want to hear this, but your system will not be able to cope with basic duties in its stock configuration. 1GB of RAM simply isn't enough, and Office 2016 will run like a dog on that thing. Don't kid yourself.

If you want somewhat OK performance with Windows 10, upgrade it to 2GB of RAM first. A hard drive upgrade wouldn't hurt either, as I remember those to be pretty slow. Use 32bit Windows 10, and keep background apps to a minimum. Replace Windows Defender with Bitdefender free (the lightest, decent AV around) and it will run OK - not great, but OK.

If you really want performance, look no further than Lubuntu 14.04. I loaded it onto an EeePC a while back and was impressed with the performance, even on 1GB of RAM (it only consumes 120mb at idle).

Thanks both but I already have Windows 10 Pro 32 bits+Office+ESET and works good.

    Thanks
