What will moded bios do to activated XP?

    I was wondering if I could get feedback from one of those around here that has a good idea about what will happen to my 64bit XP if I install windows 7 on second harddrive and upgrade my bios to one with slic2.1. Will it trigger XP to think its on a different computer or will it just ignore slic and stay active? Thanks for the response :D

    I am not 100% maybe 98% but it should not affect XP in any manor.

    Thanks for the reply. Thats what I would like to happen but keep going over it in my head.
    I probably just need to update the bios so I stop thinking about it but hate to mess up activation on perfectly good Xp.:rolleyes:

    I have XP on a Compaq sr1619 desktop with a 2.1 slic mod I dont have anything except genuine OEM XP on it & it has remained fully activated.

    Thanks that sounds great so I just need to update my bios then and satisfy my urge.
