What backup option would be best for weekly backups to a external drive? Acronis or Win 10? Thanks, Chris
Many good options given, I have tested several, and always go back to Acronis. WHY: 1. it includes boot media, that works in all frames. 2. you can open any Acronis backup and read it. 3. It is faster, for me, and I have also used to Clean Install on Different Machine, with never a issue. 4. I was the only one that would Originally WORK on my UEFI BIOS, Acer AIO that was Windows 8.1 OEM. It also is the only one that has NEVER FAILED ME to RESTORE. once Activated make your Bootable USB or DVD and that is all you ever need to BACKUP or RESTORE with.
I've used Drive Image, BootIT and then stuck with Acronis for a long time... But after I tried Macrium, everything changed Beautiful and way clearer UI, faster backup and it even includes a PE file explorer... So one can copy / delete files or folders in PE mode...none of the others do this Also does incremental and differential backups, like the others... If you haven't tried it, now's a good time
Paragon is in general as good as acronis. Little pros and little cons, but they are both solid solutions.
Agreed Acronis is very good, but no program beats Windows built in backup & restore by SPEED - it is just way faster then any product I have ever tried.
I didn't use a Backup Apps, use a Drive Cloning apps instead. In that regards, I use HDClone for years with no problems. On the end of the day, it always came back to those, what didn't gave any problems and for sure, what the user likes! Regarding Acronis, I've to say, that I'd get problems with it on computers which are used to run on Thai OS'es!
Linux is not complicated like windows, an imaging SW is practically unneeded there, also the simple tools available since the stone age (dd, tar, cpio, rsync) are more than enough to do practically everithing
