What would microsoft do if I sold my msdn keys for windows 7 all editions on ebay?

Is it against ebay rules to sell cd-keys? I'm not going to provide media, just valid cd-keys to activate your copy of windows 7 legally.

well, if a Microsoft employee bought your key, it could be traced back to your name and then all of your keys could get blacklisted. I would stick with only sharing keys with people i trust (family, friends, co-workers).

I'm not sure, but maybe if they find out they might black list those keys. Not sure about the legality of it though, but if I were you I'll keep the selling of keys privately for now.

Maybe there is someone out there that might know the answer for you.

I figured they might blacklist them. I was just wondering why its such a big deal. I mean they are YOUR keys and you technically paid for them with your subscription right?

You should read the MS EULA. I dont believe you own anything anymore, except the right to use the product until they see it differently..

Yeah they give you a license to use their product like the state gives you a license to drive-abuse it and it can be revoked.

I have already seen Keys on Ebay for sale you can bet M$ is looking out for that type of thing, being that W7 is not even in the retail stores yet.

Personally i could care less about what you do with your keys, you want to get them blacklisted go ahead. But i don't want to see you come back here crying that M$ blacklisted your keys and revoked your MSDN acct.

TBH, you should not even be discussing the sale of keys at all.

I believe that MS would try to make an example of you. Do I think that they would prosecute you? You betcha.

I have already been banned from Ebay and threatened by MS for trying to sell retail copies of Office 2007 and Vista that I got free by attending MS seminars.

Is MS watching Ebay for product keys? That is guaranteed!! There are no legal retail keys for sale at this time.

Do they have their piracy police watching forums like this... Yep They probably even download the loaders to figure out how to patch.

A court would look at selling the keys like they do with the RIAA lawsuits. They will take the highest amount that they consider the software to be worth.
Remember the guy who got sued for uploading 30 songs= $629,000..

    Not worth taking that chance..

You forgot about the winged monkeys! It's right there in the EULA. Hordes and hordes of angry winged monkeys.
