I have used one out of four W8 keys for my current install, and then I have upgraded to WMC.

When I try to figure out which W8 key I used in the first place, I only see the WMC key.

How do I find out which key I've used?

The WMC key is for upgrade; so it replaces your previous key & converts the previous SKU (Professional) to a new one (ProfessionalWMC).

Post it to MS blog with your intention, which i guess is not to reuse that pro key on new hardware. They must have way to know last five characters of the pro key used before upgrade...

Does this mean that I can use the WMC key only, now that it has been activated? My intention is to do a reinstall.

Edit: Yeah, you've already answered that.. thanks! :)

When doing a re-install you will have to:
    - install first a Win 8 PRO without WMC
    - and activate that Win PRO with a PRO key before doing the upgrade to WMC

So how are you going to get a (other) Win PRO key to activate ?

I'll be moving to SSD, so I need a fresh install.

Yeah, I was wondering that as well at first. I've been giving it a thought and I'm not sure that I want WMC anyway.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\DefaultProductKey(2) didn't help me, it said ProffesionalWMC as well.

You might be able to re-install with the WMC Delta
