Since all the builds released now belong to the RC-branch don't look for the new features - there won't be any. The RC-branch code has been frozen. From now on only bug fixes and under-the-hood improvements.
What I've noticed in this build over all prior builds - STUFF JUST WORKS. I've heard recently that MS has been concentrating on avoiding the software incompatibility issues that plagued Vista, and it must be true. For example, third party PVR apps weren't working until this build. I couldn't get BeyondTV to work in Windows 7. Magically, it now works perfectly. Also, I could not get my ATI Remote Wonder to work prior to this build. Now, it works great. In fact, anything that I could run in Vista now works with this build.
Interestingly, I had the opposite experience. After upgrading from 7068 I'm having the same network stack problems I had with 7057 - I need to sleep and wake before I can see other PCs in the network, and my image backup was a bit slower than with 7068 to which I just reverted. Maybe a clean install might be better with this build, but so far I've had great experiences with upgrades, 7068 being by far the best for me. Just goes to show how varied results can be.
Clean install of 7077x64 - everything the same as all previous builds as far as compatibility, but SUPERAntiSpyware will not install - not compatible it says. Tried the Troubleshooter, and running in various older OS modes - no luck. I'm back using 7068x64.....will wait for RC before spending any more time on it.
Authentec's fingerprint software won't work in 7077. (and if you upgrade from 7068 to 7077 it will insist you uninstall the Authentec software prior to release)
haven't managed to successfully install Ati Catalyst 9.4 on Windows 7 7077 x64 so far. ACEeventlog states some call not catching, so guess its some dotNet or VCredist stuff. couldnt check yet if thats just plain "ati suxx again at its best" or some weird Win 7 problem. On Vista 32 it does work.
