Ultimate and Enterprise are 100% the same.

Some Windows programs (games for example) are not installed when you install the system.

But you can install them manually (even without disk).

Another big difference I just found

You can upgrade from Professional (or any other same-architecture edition) to Ultimate, but not to Enterprise.

Enterprise has to be a clean install, no other option.

Enterprise is Ultimate without the multimedia features, and focuses on corporate features useful in a business environment. It is also licensed differently via KMS servers and MAK keys

Enterprise is only meant for business purpose

with the Enterprise edition you have no updates for Language Packs from Windows Update.
however you can install the language packs files from thei location (of lp.cab)
    on the hard drive.
with the Ultimate edition you also have the option to update and install languages packs from Windows Update.

Enterprise is 100% the same as Ultimate, but Ultimate it for normal users, and Enterprise is sold to large businesses.

Ultimate can be activated more easily than ENT, which is the only difference between this two versions to me.

I got the info by attempting to upgrade a Windows 7 Professional virtual machine to Enterprise, first-hand knowledge, it told me you cannot upgrade to enterprise, only a clean install.

I've always heard that it's exactly the same, so a few random people online didn't convince me that that they aren't. Maybe it really is true.

yeah it has been said before many times. Ultimate and Enterprise are the same minus the channels they are for. Ent doesn't have LPs because it is not a retail edition so you have to download the localized version you are licensed for.
