    Hello,

I am planning to reinstall Windows 7 on my PC, and surely after i reinstall windows I immediately run Windows Update to get the latest security patches which are currently released by Microsoft, but I want to know where are those downloaded updates stored on my PC (directory) for later use, because I do not want to wait every time I reinstall my windows until those patches are downloaded again and again!

First to a tempfolder and then they updates systemfiles.

You can use steven4554's WUD thread to download all updates if you want or google on all KB's.

    C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download
But they haven't the real name - you must rename them manualy(*.msu,*.exe)

Serp202 is there a software that will automatically change them to exe or msi because 200 is far too many to rename by hand.

You can use Win Toolkit - Update Retriever. Unfortunately, there does not show all downloaded updates.
