hi I have quite a bit of sand.. about 10kg. enough to break a bag.. I could duct tape the bag and put it in the trash but would have to check with the council to make sure they won't fine me for that. i'm not near a beach. any serious ideas?
actually I know a place I can throw it.. nobody will care or notice. if I can't do the bin, i'll do there. interesting to know what people would do though. I can't really throw it in the garden because the gardener is a pro and might go into a depression.
Must be several years of collection from visiting the beach, you know, all the sand that gets caught in the budgee smugglers (speedo's) In all seriousness though, its probably okay in the bin, the council probably won't see it anyway! However, I guess that depends on what type of collection you have. If its the oldschool manual handle garbage bins then it could possible raise eyebrows, but if its automated rubbish collection (where you have a wheelie bin, and the truck drives up next to it, and a robotic arm lifts it up and empties it) like we've have here for 20+ years, it will just look like rubbish.
you could dig a pit in your garden and bury it in there?? or as the others suggested inform the council
buy some cement, get some bricks make a nice mixture using the cement sand & water & build something. some suggestions: .modern fireplace .podium in your living room other suggestions: GAINT sand-timer If you have a backyard- Get some pebbles & make a mini-fountain with pebbles in the sand & some lighting... (if you attach the fountain outlet to one end of the structure, you can have a mini-shower-pool too (you'll need some tiles & will also hafta dig a hole & lay a decent foundation(using the sand+cement+bricks & finishing with the tiles)
Cut holes in your pockets of some loose fitting trousers. Get good handfulls of sand. Place hands in pockets. Now walk around your neighbourhood and slowly open your fists and allow the sand to escape from the bottom of your trousers. Or get loads of sand. Put a net across and then sexy girls in tiny swim ware will turn up in droves... Or is that just in my mind.....Youser
