I was talking to a guy who claims to be able to use a Dell OEM Windows 8 DVD on ANY Dell machine and it activates fine, even if that machine did not come with Windows 8 OEM originally Possible ?
I think I would like to see that dvd. I have several Dell available for testing that theory, including a VMWare installation that is setup as a Dell. Next time to you talk to that guy, get an image lol
Yea that's what I thought too lol I`ll ask him to upload it, but I have my doubts He asked me to find a 32bit Dell OEM ISO so he can install it onto an old Dell laptop that did not come with 8 pre-installed, I told him to use a Retail disk He said he has a 64bit Dell OEM DVD he uses on many other non-Windows 8 Dell machines and apparently it works fine
I doubt that very much, considering the key for activation is not even on the dvd but in bios on a windows 8 OEM machine.
I have several Dell OEM Windows 8 keys, yes they work but only to allow install. not one would Activate.
every win8 machine has a unique key embedded into the system now. OEM sends info to MS -> MS sends key -> key is installed per system -> nubs like me buy said systems -> upgrade ram -> install enterprise hehe
