    Hi :)

I want to know if someone know WHERE to find the bios for PackardBell Desktop, the old one particularly...
if you look on Google and other forum, it seems it's really a problem and hard to find an update for PB mobo.

Since Acer acquire Pbell, the renewing of the Support Site seems to "Forget" the Bios for the old products......... o_O

As you can see on their actual site, there's only the recent one. A link give an access to the FTP, but you can see
the FTP is like a rubbish bin for files, not a real FTP......

i need to update a mobo for a friend and i know thre's a newer version than he have actually.

The motherboard have the PBBGL00.P05 version and i need the PBBGL00.P07

I need it because there's always a bug during the post process "DIMM type Mismatch (128Bit)"
and you must press "F1" at each time you start or restart the computer.

the other reason is , the Phenom isn't well identified by the bios too (need probably to update the CPUid table)

if someone can provide me a link , it will be very cool

    Best regards, Ray

PS : sorry for the globbish language :D, i have a very low skill and level in English !

Arf, sorry, i'm stupid idiot :worthy:

    in CPU-Z i have :

    MODEL : PBGL00
    Chipset : AMD SB700
    LPCIO : ITE8718

For the bios, it's an AMI revision P05, release date : 08/05/2008

i have some sticker too with some reference : ULYP83700345, MB PB KIT PN : 7810910000

normally with the name of the bios i find this bios on PB support site :

iMedia (PT.U09-PV.U09) name of the bios : PBBGL00.P09

I try to flash with this one , but the only result is blackscreen and no beep :(

Fortunately, i have an eeprom programmer to revert back to the P05 version.

in first, thanks for the fast reply :)

This is one of my problem, i didn't know exactly the iMedia model, because i have the mobo without
    the case

after some research on Google it's seems some model below have it :

    IMEDIA A4730 FR / IMEDIA A3317 UK / IMEDIA A5518 UK

and actually with this reference on the actual PB support site : iMedia (PT.U09-PV.U09)

But like i said before, i try to update the bios with the PBBGL00.P09 : blackscreen and no beep.

(I'm actually reprogramming the eeprom with my programmer and make a new try, because
i flash it before without renewing the bootblock,etc....)

My motherboard have this chipset :

    Northbridge: ATI RS690/RS690M
    Southbridge: ATI SB700

    IGP : Radeon 2100

    Hurray !!! :clapping:

After some try i can say PBBGL00.P09 is ok for this mobo !

I have some strange behavior but the motherboard is now functionnal.

i test it with the same processor (phenom) and the mobo start with P05 bios, processor unknown.
    No boot with P09
the AGESA module is 3.3.2.2 in P09 bios (module 13.47) and in P05 there's an older module.
    (very strange)

    i'm trying with a 5200+ 64X2 , no start, no post.

    5000+ 64X2 give me a start

can't understand why P05 start with Phenom and not with the P09 revision.
Probably the AGESA module and CPU microcode.

Don't hesitate to give me your own idea about that and if you have very interested by changing
AGESA module, a very deep and interesting thread can be read on this forum :
