I bought W7 the first day it was offered for sale. So the disc I have doesn't have SP1 or any of the updates since then. When ever I reload my system it takes forever using Windows update to download and install all of the updates (including SP1). I'd like to know if there is a place I can download all off these updates and slipstream them to my install disc. Does anyone know where or have a link for me?

How much will a slipstreamed new installation reduce the C: disk footprint?

I mean the sxs folder size should be significantly smaller, right???

That depends on how you define "significantly". For me the difference was not significant since I long ago came to the realization every versions of Windows has a much larger footprint that its predecessor. Couple that with ever increasing capacity for all types of disks (and other media) and slipstreaming becomes essentially a customization and installation simplification tool.
