Hi guys,i was wondering which graphic card is the best in the moment? I have a: ATI RADEON HD 5700 series DDR5 Approx.memory 2737MB What do you think which Graphic card Manufacturer is the best? 1.Nvidia 2.ATI RADEON 3.AMD
I use as mentioned ATI RADEON 5770 series and the graphic is really good,i can play any game without any problems in the highest quality.
recently bought a Gigabyte GTX460 1GB good value for money, before that i had a XFX 8800GTS 320 which has been running for 5 years in my old rig, decently overclocked by myself after 2 weeks of purchase and has been running stable and well for all this time. not to say i am an nvidia fanboy, but i've got a soft spot for nvidia Fig!
See, I'm still partial to my GTX 260, it does the trick when it comes to most things heh. Although, I think I'm going to get that Asus 6950, the one with 6 ports. Delish.
The refreshed Fermis in 5xx series are great. GTX 560Ti is best value in the series. For high end card the GTX 580 is best, MSI TF3/Lightning or Asus DirectCu have the best coolers. There is Kepler coming next to replace Fermi but there are still delays because of the 28nm factory.
Apple has switched their high end imac and mac pro to ATI since 2010..since they believed it has a greater perfromance to render than nvidia..but they had even promised to switch back to nvidia in 2012 if they meet their graphincs requirements.. Even the graphics benchmarks are all higher with the ATI 6850 , 6970, 6990 than Nvidia GTX460, GTX560.(from google). At present i think ATI just ahead of Nvidia both at cost and performance level.
Well it also depends what OS you'll be running. I always have a flavor of Linux in my system and best choice for it is Nvidia cards, because the drivers are readily available and are pretty usable compared to ATI drivers.
For my experience and from all what I read in many comparisons, most of the time ATI & nVidia have similar performances, but with their basic settings. Increasing to maximum (anti-aliasing, mipmapping, anisotropic filter, ecc.), nVidia will eat ATI without problems, that's also the reason why a nVidia VGA cost more than ATI ones. Anyway, as x86 said, the best is what exactly meet your needs, that's the reason why I still have an ASUS EN8800GTS 512Mb, it still playing all games with ALL settings to max without problems. I can think to replace my VGA just to enjoy the Directx 11, otherwise...
