I'm not that savvy on virtual machines but AFAIK, VMware is the best solution for this task. I use it often and can tell you it runs smoothly and flawlessly, last version.

Kelogo, I may be wrong here but as regards to SLP 1.0 are you not limited with VirtualBox i,e, say dell for example non standard DMI areas ?

Sure, you are limited to anything that's actually valid DMI/SMBios data. That doesn't invalidate my point about VirtualBox's configuration options being superior to VMware.

By the way, the Dell string is not in a "non-standard DMI area". There is no such thing. The location of the Dell string is simply outside valid DMI area.

Also, VirtualBox is less than 100MB, VMWare is over 400MB.

Fair enough kelorgo, I may have worded it wrong as regards to Dell SLP 1.0 memory addresses :)

VMware Workstation is expensive (if you don't know where to look. wink-wink nod-nod nudge-nudge)
VMware Workstation recognizes WiFi without any any configuration. Just by coincidence, I had to install VirtualBox today. (Came across a VB image file I needed to run). VB would only see a NAT ethernet, which in my case was unplugged. Had to create a bridged network, tying the NAT to the WiFi. After that, all good. Worked great.
