do you have activation keys for either version?
If not, you should go after a copy which you can activate and fits your needs. There is no difference in quality > all the same sh!t

if you risk a brief look into the repository containing mostly all versions available, you should be fine. In terms of free activation, without a legal key you should look after a version which can be converted to volume like all pro versions. The VL versions already come with the channel adjusted as well as enterprise. then it is up to you how you activate your copy using KMS, KMSpico or the new KMSmicro stuff. You need to read the pages and don't let do the work others

 

The fact that you're asking this question leads me to believe that "it does not matter what version you install".

Whatever you end up installing is the best for you as long as you can activate it.

 

This is like asking who the best super hero is. Everyone will have a different answer, it may even cause a riot.

Install the Pro version.

Download the VL version if you want to use a KMS.

 

Basically I recommend 8.1 Pro VL, easier to activate.
