Can't tell you anything regarding the bio's in your links but if I had to choose I would pick the one with the T6600 cpu and DDR3 memory. That notebook series does come with a model with Win7 installed so I would say that all the notebooks in that aspire series will have SLIC 2.1 . It would be stupid on the manuf. side to only put a SLIC table on the ones that will have Win7 preloaded.
well...can't say for sure..i have got many good reviews for them...We are getting much better features in lesser price...
Yeah i would also prefer that one but Intel T6600 doesn't support virtualisation and in that case we can't use xp mode...and whats more interesting is that we can opt for either for Linux Or With Windows 7...so i am not sure whether the linux one also has slic v2.1 Or if it has does it also use some asste tag just like Dell or HP
If you have an absolute need for XPmode just run XP in vmware/virtualbox/etc... Personally I would not use hardware virtualization on a laptop unless it was a beast or for just testing/one off purposes. Good luck with whatever you decide.
FYI - AMD Turion 2 Dual M500 scores a 5.7 on Windows 7 WEI (CPU subscore) Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 scores a 5.5 on Windows 7 WEI (CPU subscore) I doubt you would notice the difference in day to day activities no matter which one you picked.
Thanks for your information...It was really helpful and i would definitely tell which one i finally do decide to buy
