KUC is no longer useful for post-Update 1 Windows 8.1 x64 updating. WHD is now closed and the final version is being developed. Is there another good updater then? I want to have ALL the updates and I want that updater to verify which updates I already have and download only the new ones, the ones not available through regular Windows Update. Is there such an app? I get all Windows updates, but I just learned that there is NET Framework 4.5.2 out there that wasn't a part of available regular Windows Update. I want an app that downloads even such updates as long as my system actually supports them.

KUC works differently to WHD. KUC has the download lists internal and is maintained solely by Komm. WHD is a shell, the update lists that reference the updates are separate. Abbodi1406 looks after Windows 7, 8.1, and Office 2010, and I look after Office 2013. Once WHD is finalised the only time it will need updating, at least in theory, is when Office 2015 and Windows 8.2/9 are released and so forth.

The update for NET Framework 4.5.2 exists both as a all-in-one update covering Windows 7 and 8.1 etc., and a standalone update for each of x86 and x64 Windows 8.1. The standalone update is included in the Windows 8.1 lists. There is absolutely no benefit of using the all-in-one over the standalone, the all-in-one updates NET Framework of Windows 8.1 simply by running the same standalone update which is stored internally.
