Hello there, @enthusiast. I'm trying to install Windows 10 on an old computer with a DVD reader that doesn't support Dual-layer DVDs, so I'm looking for an ISO with a version of Windows that is less than 4GB in size that I can burn on a normal DVD disk, install it on this pc, and then upgrade to the latest version of Windows using the Microsoft Update Assistant tool, but the link "*://ave9858.github.io/msdl/#" only has the most recent Windows releases Do you have another link like that for older versions of Windows 10? I'd appreciate it!
Create one on uup dump with only 1 sku/index or select esd compression or run the ISO thru this tool and select install.esd and it will fit your DVD5: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...-install-esd-install-swm-creation-tool.78925/
@Tito When I try to install Windows from a USB stick on that computer, I get a black screen with a blinking Command Prompt cursor. I tried waiting, as some people suggested on forums or on YouTube, but it stayed that way indefinitely, so I gave up on USB.
But maybe you tell what kind of computer it is and what kind of USB you use and how you use it. What you are saying about the black screen and blinking cursor indicates that something is wrong with or using the USB. Give some information about what you do and how you do it all.
How old of a computer? Is it BIOS or UEFI? If UEFI, but with CSM enabled, what boot priority options are available (aka does the USB stick show up twice in the motherboard settings when choosing what to boot from)? Which tool did you use to flash the USB stick? BONUS: It's much easier and more fun to install Ventoy onto the USB stick and simply copy the ISO as a file, and in fact as many ISOs as you want, then when booting it will bring up a list of all your ISOs to choose which one to boot to. For example you could have multiple Windows editions with multiple Linux live distros and even backup tools like Clonezilla, each of them as simple ISO files that you can add and delete without reformatting while the rest of the free space can be used for regular files like a regular USB stick. As long as we solve this boot issue if there is one.
