I just got a new laptop yesterday. I don't care for the crapware HP includes in their laptops so I reinstalled Windows 7 and also installed a copy of Office 2010 using a trial product key that can be found on the net. (YCDJ6..)

    Everything went fine.

Today I decided to redo the process as I had installed more drivers/HP software than needed and some of the crapware wouldn't uninstall correctly. So, I wiped the entire HDD and reinstalled Windows 7 but now Office 2010 wont' install anymore. It keeps saying "This is not a valid product key". And I've tried both of the trial keys that are available. None of them work. Why??

I got the installer from here:

I don't understand how that is even possible since I saved the files directly to the new laptop along with all the drivers. Just before re-installing it today, I copied all the files to an external harddrive and restored everything from this drive. I've never installed Office 2010 before so I can't have mixed up the installation files with other versions.

Weird.. but I guess I must have used a different file. Where can I get the trials?

After installing the trial version of Office 2010 and activating Office using the trial product key, you might want to take a look at midenaphos blog on blogspot.com ( "How to reset trial period Office 2010" ) for how to have infinite trial period.
