Ok I'm formatting again and disabling this unreliable SkyDrive for good!
shoot me, please.
nm I cant wait, I got this
When you install OneDrive application (for W8-0 and older) OS in W8-1, then (and MS NOTES this fact) the following feature (one DLL file and few registry entries) "OneDrive support for Office 2013 Upload Center" IS actually installed (the condition is to have Office 2013 installed). Then (in W8-1) build-in SkyDrive sync engine (with tray icon in case of KB2923768 or without tray icon in case of plain W8-1 RTM) is bound to Office 2013 Upload Center (You can test this behavior in W8-1).
So installation of W8-0 (and older) OneDrive desktop application on W8-1 OS actually IS supported solution as (as one DLL file is updated in SYSTEM32 folder) and for THIS reason "Microsoft OneDrive" entry item is added to "Programs and Features" list in W8-1 too. Also for this reason, there is no warning/error (this installer app is not supported on this system).
However NOTHING ELSE is updated (SkyDrive core in W8-1 stays intact).
Sometime back you perhaps stated that it was win 7 for you. I see that you are on win 8.1 today.
Why not try it on 7.
