I have a GA-P35 DS4 board. Used super static 3 to add HP SLIC to the BIOS.

Till BIOS Version F8 the method worked. But now I modded F11, find out it hangs after post(verify DPMI etc.).
So I use the official F11. After booting, I use Everest to check the ACPI table. The SLIC is still in it. And use ACPI Scope, the same. This is under XP.

Ok, I boot into my Vista, still the same, Vista stay activated.

I flash back my BIOS to older F8(offical), still there is a SLIC table in it.

Tried clear DMPI data after flashing, no change. I haven't tried clearing CMOS yet, casue too lazy to reconfigure. I think the SLIC shouldn't stay in the CMOS area...

    How can this happen?

    Hi,

Perhaps you've installed an activation crack such as Paradox or Vista loader and didn't uninstalled it properly.
Try to install a fresh copy of Vista or if you don't want to format, do it on another HDD.

    Bye,

I never installed a software mod nor a crack on that pc. ;)

One reason now I can think about is that some data in the shadow bios was used rather that the actual bios.
