why this time MSDN office 2016 pro plus doesnt allow me to pick individual components i double click the setup, and it starts to install right away...and it has to connect to internet... updated.. here, to counter this problem, I have to download the office 2016 deployment tool, according to this article, i can pick which component to be installed https: //technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn745895.aspx (i am not allowed to post link directly)
MS used this lousy so called "click-to-run" install mode. I can't understand how a company can be so stupid as to use such a installation scheme.
another problem is that on my win 10 x64 installation it has installed the 32bit version, it shows in task manager as a 32bit process, only 2mb of files are in the office 2015 install dir in program files. In program files x86 there are over 2gb of files. Really annoyed at this stupid installer. EDIT: If you go into the /office/ folder on the iso there is a setup32.exe and setup64.exe. Running the setup64.exe will install the 64bit version It is still a 1-click installer though.
Yes i found the same problem, so a temporal solution i found was using O2016RTool to create a "custom installer" to install only Word, Excel and PPoint EDIT: Nope, dont work download the preview version and dont use the local files to install
does anyone know whether the volume licence isos to be released on Oct 1st will let you choose which applications to install or will we have to use the command line tool still?
Probably, because the documentation for the deployment tool for C2R says: As you can see this list doesn't include volume values, so volume installers must use different installer format, which will most likely be the old school msi installer. Check my new thread for details on install customization.
