hello, i think about getting some vaio Z 45W after 22 october, are vaio using AMI bios ? and wich actual laptops are the easiest to mod ? i mean like the asus mobo that are very easy to mod, i would like a laptop as easy to mod as asus mobos. is vaio a good choice for modding ?
I have an HP HDX with an Insyde BIOS. i downloaded a program called EZH2O that is almost designed to mod the SLIC table! couldn't be easier and i have full confidence that i will never brick my mobo as it automatically replaces the pubkey and marker in the SLIC table as 2 separate entries. no dabbling in hex code!
basing the laptop brand you'll be buying on the fact that it is the easiest to mod seems silly. especially since if you buy after oct 22, you could simply go for a win 7 oem laptop (big brand), which will have 2.1 slic already...
If you buy it in October than it will be ALREADY with Windows 7, hence the SLIC 2.1, so NO NEED to mod anything! sebus
I've got an asus m51va notebook with an ami bios which which no-one has been able to mod yet. It shows the 2.1 slic in bios but wont activate. On these forums there are a few people with asus notebooks that all report the same story. .
I have an Aspire 5672 (Phoenix BIOS) and modded myself, just waiting for Acer cert 2.1 to be leaked. Thrash post the original BIOS link and model.
