Hi, All my tvs' are connected to wifi. On the one I use mostly the connection drops causing a black screen instead of what I am viewing. After talking to verizon, they said I should reboot my router every 2 to 3 weeks to help resolve it. Also, they mentioned getting a wifi extender would help it without having to reboot my router. Which method do you think would work better to solve my issue? TIA
So they know that there is a serious problem with their equipment and will not replace or fix it. Tell them your routers borked and you need a newer model they probable have more than one model and you got a old one thats way past it End Of Life date Get your own router and put their router in bypass mode, Turn off their WiFi if you go this route I would not buy a extender from what I hear they are usually not as good as a router or as a WiFi extender they have cheap radio's (read it on the openwrt forum) buy a real router and for bonus points get one that you can flash alternate firmware onto it I just bought a flint 2 mt6000 and flashed openwrt and could not be happier. Most routers can act as a Wifi extender but you really have to check if it's able to be a client some don't so do your homework WiFi 7 routers are faily expensive right now so I went with wifi 6 I am not going to get any wifi 7 devices for a couple of years from now and there is no point in getting 7 because by the time I get wifi 7 device the routers will probably half as much in the future
They are paying for it so what do i care if i try it for free. If not, I will use a lan cable as there is that option.
