Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia has today released a statement saying that they plan to move their domains away from GoDaddy, due to the company supporting SOPA, a bill which aims to censor the internet. Jimmy Whales, founder of Wikipedia says that GoDaddys position in supporting the bill is unacceptable. Wikipedia, as well as other websites and companies, have released statements saying that they plan to move their domains away from GoDaddy because of their support for SOPA. SOPA is an American bill which aims to censor the internet from copyrighted materials. Jimmy Whales, founder of Wikipedia has released a statement saying: "I am proud to announce that the Wikipedia domain names will move away from GoDaddy. Their position on #sopa is unacceptable to us." Other websites such as Can I Haz Cheezburger has also announced plans to pull over 1000 domains from GoDaddy. Users on Reddit have been boycotting GoDaddy, EA, Nintendo and other companies which also support the bill.
