I have tried the Win 10 on Hyper-V, VMWare and even VirtualBox but i still get stuck in the "Getting ready" part. Any help how to get it installed?
I have the same problem with vmware. Some users reported that in their vmware works but not under my system. Still stuck on getting ready part too.
are you using efi in config it takes some 10 min in that stage but gets installed, just sit tight and watch, also try to disable your nic.
if this question was directed to me: I run VMplayer as it comes in English lp version and I installed new TP9926 on it without problems
I used both the efi and the bios. I tried several configuration like sata, scsi vhd. I've tried the refresh option from winre too: i got the previous builds stucked on that part too but with the refresh trick it works at the end. Now this doesn't work anymore. I really would like to know why...
Well i tried VMWare player 6. Crash also. Let me try something.... Confirmed. I f**ked something up and now even if i try install VMWare Workstation, it will BSOD on KERNEL_SECURITY thing
Here the virtual testinstall is also stuck on "prepairing" in the latest vmware workstation and player. Edit: Tested the EN-US and it ran smoothly (as paul said), but the dutch dvd did not at all German 86 Pro TP, also installed in vmware workstation. I will test, en-gb and french versions.
Tried the 64 bit ISO on both WMV Player 7 and Virtualbox, stuck at "Getting ready". Using the 32 bit ISO instead worked for me.
I've tested now about 7 languages succesfully and the x86 dutch version (PRO) has installed in vmware, now i'm going to test the x64 version again.
I leaved the vm running and after a lot of time on "Getting ready" section (i don't know how many time exactly but we're talking about hours), and finally the installation process succeded. So my suggestion is: leave it running all the time it needs.
How much of the host resources are you all allowing the guest system to use? 4 cores and 8GB of ram and the "Getting Ready" is using every bit of that 8GB ram and roughly 32% CPU and 100% drive activity going on. I am thinking it may need 16GB or more ram to speed up the process. I will try and see what it does with moaaarrr ram! -ed- took 20 minutes from start to Sign in your account with above settings. -ed-2 16GB ram still uses every bit of it, probably would use all of any amount by the looks of it. Trying another install -ed-3 20 minutes at 16GB with 4 cores/3.5GHz so no difference I guess.
I think the problem is in something else. In the same host system with the same allocated resource, the installation of Windows 8/Windows 8.1 is done almost immediantly. The problems started since a build of Windows 10 (i don't remember exactly which one). The very first build of Windows 10 wasn't affected by this.
20 minutes from booting to the iso to signing in is pretty good I think. x64 Ent in VMware Workstation 11
I got it to work in Hyper-V, it installed fine but I had networking issues. The host was Windows 8.1 Pro and I created a virtual switch to bridge my WiFi adapter (no cable connection available at this place), but Windows 10 couldn't establish a connection. It looked like it was stuck in an infinite loop trying to identify the network. Disabling DHCP and manual IP configuration resolved part of the issue - I was able to connect to the local network but didn't get internet access. I'm not an expert in Hyper-V, but the same configuration worked with an earlier preview build so I guess it might be an issue with the integration services. Any ideas?
I can confirm that. Installing the x64 ISO (German Version) on VMware Workstation 11 and VMWare Player 7 stuck at "Vorbereitung läuft/getting ready". The x86 ISO works without any issue. The Installation process gets finished successfully. What's wrong with the 64 bit built? What's wrong with it? Any ideas?
