Hi there, maybe anybody can help. I want to find, and delete the "persistent/permanent Cookies" (not the flash cookies) in WIN 10 pro. The "session(short time) cookies" i can find and delete it here: "shell:cookies", but where Win 10 do store the persistent/permanent Cookies? Thanx
First sightings were made under Code: C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe\AC\#!001\MicrosoftEdge\Cookies C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe\AC\#!002\MicrosoftEdge\Cookies C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe\AC\MicrosoftEdge\Cookies the exact path is stored somewhere inside the registry (IDK the exact reg path for edge) the reg path for old IE is HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\Cookies (Possibly also for win10 core cokies)
Hi there, thank for your posting. There is no Cookies Folder under this path. What is the exact path in the Registry for edge? :-/ Nope, it´s not. :-(
sorry i dont have win10 but I currently deal with cookies. Gererell is the program which receives or sends cookies responsible for the administration of the cookies Cookies have a security bit. based on this bit the program store the cookie somewhere on the HD (Persistent) or temporary (eg. HTML.document.cookie) browser usual have also a intern cookie cach (memory) filled on startup. the file format for cookies ar not fixed eg. firefox store all cookies iside 1 SQL-file (cookies.sqlite) IE use *.txt plain files etc edge ? (maybe .txt, .xml, or whatever) - maybe 1 file, maybe each cookie in 1 file - IDK do you expect plain *.txt files (like IE) ? - I suspect the cookies file content are possibly encrypted do you turned on (i just ask for security) - 'show hidden files and folders' - 'show system files and folders' do you find none of this Folders? or does the path general not exist on your system? cookies are usual user-related search the registry under HKCU HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ for the word 'Cookie' and for 'Edge' and check the result Until now, seems no really reliable knowledge about the Edge cookie handling to be known. BTW: wich exact win 10 version and wich exact Edge version do you use?
