Win 10 / UEFI stops miniXP booting, along with any other cd booting OS (Hirens BootCD). Has anyone seen a work around or another similar tech tool?
The ability to boot to these tools has nothing to do with the OS you install, but rather the Boot Mode your motherboard is configured to use. MiniXP and HBCD are BIOS Boot or what is also known as Legacy Boot based tools. Your motherboard's firmware (BIOS/UEFI) must be configured to allow BIOS/Legacy Boot Mode. Sometimes the setting is called the Compatibility Support Module (CSM).
I take it these are new symptoms after making the changes I mentioned before correct? Can you be a little more descriptive on the "crash on load" piece? Do you get an error? Does it occur at a particular point of the booting process? Lastly, is this on a new PC that came with Windows 10 or a older PC you upgraded? Can you share some technical specs? Had it ever been able to boot these tools in the past? The reason I am asking is these tools may not properly support newer hardware which is why these tools fail to work.
XP doesn't support GPT/UEFI end of story your only option is to reinstall windows 10 in MBR mode or use a VM or not use XP AT ALL ... hirens uses grub which is why it works
I figure ths issue is something to do with Grub as the Win 7 version wont too, looking at other options. I used Hirens as a recovery tool for fixing other systems (not mine)
Unfortunately you're not answering most of my questions nor providing enough detail in order for me to accurately help you. Based on what you have said so far, it's likely a language issue that is making things difficult for me and others to help. Maybe someone can reach out to you and help translate?
You've not actually said where it crashes so this is all supposition, but I'll give it a shot. Unless Windows 10 does something weird and unlikely like upgrading the NTFS version of drivers and XP cannot handle it, it's unlikely W10 is the cause of MiniXP not being able to start. See if there's an option in your BIOS to switch from AHCI to IDE and then try booting MiniXP (make sure to switch back the option when finished with MXP). The copy of MiniXP that I have has an option to boot with the UniATA driver to add the AHCI support that XP natively lacks, but it's unstable and does cause BSODs.
On a 9 series chip, win 10 Enterp, with a RAID set on GPT with pure UEFI and not EFI, with 2.0 USB mouse not PS2, I have no problems running mini xp off of the HBCD, only in devise MGR can my RAID set and storage drives be seen. CSM enabled, PXE, Storage Op, Video Op all set legacy.
