Tests are going well, i've put in a few settings to set directly in the .cmd file: Code: SET "EI_CFG_ADD=1" <--- This sets the script to add the generic ei.cfg (if already exists, the existing one will be renamed to "EI.CFG.Ori"), when set to "0" the generic ei.cfg will not be copied, existing ones will remain on the ISO. SET "Boot_WIM_Opt=1" <--- This sets the script to run the optimize (rebuild) command for boot.wim, when set to "0" it won't. Real sorry for two dumb questions in one day. PROMISE NONE FOR A WHILE) . As I am computer ignorant just trying to get my head around what is going on above. This has to do with ei.cfg file, and boot.win file If I understand basically the ei.cfg file is the different Operating systems offered, and boot.win is the actual operating system files, ----- THEN ------ Your amendments are giving the option of either ADDING more operating systems than the original ISO has (thats the adding the generic ei.cfg file), and/or Changing the install program to bypass the W11 check (changing the boot.win file). Am I reading this correctly??????????

[ 2 ] This option mainly utilizes UFWS v1.4 (recommended option). - It circumvents all Win 11 minimum requirements (CPU-RAM-Disksize-TPM-Secureboot) - This works for clean installs and upgrade scenarios using standard setup. - Integrates Diskpart & Apply Image script (v1.3.1) for those who still like to use it. - A generic EI.CFG file will be copied to the sources folder. - For when public release (all Win 7/8/10) to DEV channel release ISO upgrades fails, i've put in a cmd called "Upgrade_Fail_Fix.cmd", run this as admin, after rebooting you can simply run standard setup. ================================================================================ * Type your option and press Enter: 1 ============================================================ Extracting Source ISO... ============================================================ 7-Zip 19.00 (x86) : Copyright (c) 1999-2018 Igor Pavlov : 2019-02-21 Scanning the drive for archives: 1 folder, 1 file, 5883697152 bytes (5612 MiB) Extracting archive: Source_ISO\W10\Windows10_InsiderPreview_Client_x64_en-us_19044.1288.iso -- Path = Source_ISO\W10\Windows10_InsiderPreview_Client_x64_en-us_19044.1288.iso Type = Udf Physical Size = 5883697152 Comment = CCCOMA_X64FRE_EN-US_DV9 Cluster Size = 2048 Created = 2021-10-07 01:00:00 Everything is Ok Folders: 85 Files: 903 Size: 918393834 Compressed: 5883697152 ============================================================ Extracting Win 11 install.wim/esd to work dir... ============================================================ ============================================================ Copying the generic ei.cfg to the work dir... does anyone had any problems regardless windows updates with this modified install in unsuported hardware? i ask this because im about to clean install win 11 on my personal machine with amd a8-7600, without secure boot, tpm, etc.. to test it.. and then maybe do this on other 7 hardwares of my family..
updates are not affected , at lest not for my 5 systems.. except for CU / OS build updates then one has to disconnect from the internets for the first part updating . except for clean installs
sorry. didnt understand this part: i have to disconnect from internet to do an cumulative update on windows 11? every cu will i have to do that? if so, im out..
No, that's incorrect info, only for feature updates aka full upgrades and by ISO only it was needed to disconnect, since UWFS is used for this tool it's not needed to disconnect anymore anyway.
Well opps im so behind lol.. things change fast .. I meant full updates.. sorry... but ok now with the tool using UWFS thats good news we do not have to disconnect from the internet any more hehe
thanks for the info. so, all good then for me to clean install win 11 on all my machines and my familys that has no tpm nor secure boot. good to know. another question, does this tool has the same function as the new rufus? or does it have something different or better?
Yes, I am another to confirm that on a clean install, 1. no problems at all with updates, CU's and security updates. ALL GOOD.
The Tool is a very simple method of making an ISO that will bypass the W11 checks. There are other tools as well that have this built in, like rufus. Pick the one you like. For me this tool IS GREAT - simple, makes a perfect ISO for clean install.
Updated the OP to Win 11 Boot And Upgrade FiX KiT v2.2 Changelog: Code: v2.2 Replaced the UFWS cmd by UFWS v1.4, now modifying the index info on install.wim/esd to circumvent the win 11 minimum system requirements when clean installing or upgrading. UFWS enables you to do ISO upgrades without the need for disconnecting from internet. The tool now uses only one folder for the used files, thanks to @W_fantasma at MDL. Added an "Upgrade_Fail_Fix.cmd" to the root of the ISO, meant for when upgrading has failed. Also put in direct CMD settings for adding ei.cfg and boot.wim optimization. Replaced the date assessment for ISO fix date by code suggestion by @RPO at MDL Added 2 new settings on the cmd file directly: SET "EI_CFG_ADD=1" <--- This sets the script to add the generic ei.cfg (if one already exists, the existing one will be renamed to "EI.CFG.Ori"), when set to "0" the generic ei.cfg will not be copied, existing ones will remain on the ISO. SET "Boot_WIM_Opt=1" <--- This sets the script to run the optimize (rebuild) command for boot.wim, when set to "0" it won't.
Once again, I just removed the diskpart/apply image portion, ran the kit against a 22494 image - worked flawlessly.
Does it hurt to have it in boot.wim? nobody knows it's in when not pressing SHIFT+F10 and type "menu". Maybe i will put in a set.... in the cmd to include or exclude it.
Nah, I did it for the sake of my previous post about the kit working even after someone had fiddled with it.
