    @Enthousiast
    What is the reason why the system disk installed in WIN11 does not display the system drive letter in WIN10

    Before i go try to reproduce this could you put in this ei.cfg* inside the "ISO/USB\Sources" folder (or check it's present already) and retry?
    *ei.cfg
    Code:
    [Channel]
    _Default
    [VL]

    Put the install.wim of WIN7 into WIN11 PE and cannot be installed (it seems that the system disk does not have a drive letter, win11pe will not create the drive letter "C" of the C drive by itself)

    What is the procedure to install W11 to a new partition using the Tool? Option 1 fails as it does the usual W11 compatibility tests. Option 2 does not give an option to install to a different partition - just goes into upgrade mode on my w10 partition...

    That's actually what running setup.exe does.

    To install on a different partition as in dual boot you just install from boot and select the partition you want to install it on. The dual boot should be set up by windows.

    Or apply the image to the partition and setup the boot configuration manually.

    Thanks for info - tried booting from USB in EFI mode and got the choice to install to the new partition...but setup refuses to install saying it couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one! How to fix?

    I set up a new partition on my GPT disk, formatted to NTFS then booted from usb to do the install...then I get the error after setup asks which partition to install to...I have W10 on my MBR disk as Primary. The GPT disk has all its partitions shown as 'data partitions'. I am unsure about setting my target partition to Active - as this may srew up my main W10 boot drive...

    I think you problem is something to do with Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST), you may need to install a driver before starting to install Windows.

    It was the GPT partition layout that setup didn't like. I moved the W11 space from the end of the disk to the front of the disk. It now installed correctly...
